This devoted pit bull spent two weeks sitting beside the train tracks, looking over his friend’s dead corpse. Hope For Paws in Los Angeles, California, has always been dedicated to saving homeless animals in need of a second shot at life.
The rescuers were shocked to see that close to the dog, among various rocks and debris, was a dead body of a poodle. It was the railway maintenance personnel who first noticed what was occurring.
Members of the group Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz came to the pitbull’s rescue, and she was given the name “Cassandra.” Cassandra was extremely frightened and had no faith in the two women.
The dog was drawn to them by the sweets they were providing her, and after some time spent attempting to win their trust, they were able to catch her.
She was in a panic, but the rescuers’ soothing words and touches soon put her at ease.
The women put Cassandra in the car, and after a trip to the vet and a hot bath, she appeared to be aware that they were simply trying to help her. As a result, she looked to be willing to accept their assistance.
After some time with a foster family, the dog started to reveal her true self. She enjoys interacting with other dogs and people, and she is energetic, kind, and inquisitive.
